Rise in American Visitors to the Algarve

More tourists from the United States are choosing the Algarve for their vacations, marking a significant trend in the region's tourism sector. According to Hélder Martins, president of the Associação dos Hotéis e Empreendimentos Turísticos do Algarve (AHETA), there has been a very notable increase in the North American market. In fact, this group has now surpassed Spanish tourists in numbers, with Americans being the most represented nationality in some hotel units.

Additionally, there is a rise in Portuguese nationals opting to vacation in the Algarve, indicating a broader appeal of the region. This growth highlights the Algarve's attractiveness as a prime destination for both international and domestic travelers.
