A Binter flight from the Canary Islands was forced to divert to Porto Santo this afternoon after failing to land at Madeira Airport due to strong winds.
After spending several hours on the tarmac at the local airport, passengers were informed via ANA airports' information screen that the flight from Madeira to Porto Santo had been canceled. Many passengers are now stuck at the airport, awaiting further information from Binter.
A new problem has emerged: the majority of hotels on the island are fully booked, leaving many of the affected passengers without a place to stay following the cancellation of their flight.
