Exciting Film Premieres and Discounts Announced
The Tribeca Festival Lisboa has revealed its first batch of national and international films, set to be showcased from October 30 to November 1, 2025, at the Unicorn Factory Lisboa in Beato. Among the highlights is "Bugonia", the bold new film by Yorgos Lanthimos, starring Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, and Alicia Silverstone in leading roles.
International and Portuguese Cinema Take Center Stage
For the 2025 edition, confirmed international titles include "Charliebird" by Libby Ewing, a major festival winner; "Are We Good?", a documentary by Steven Feinartz featuring Marc Maron; and "The Best You Can", a dramatic comedy by Michael J. Weithorn with Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick reuniting on screen for the first time in 20 years. These join the previously announced "Honeyjoon" by Lilian T. Mehrel, starring José Condessa, Ayden Mayeri, and Amira Casar.
Portuguese cinema is also a strong focus, with films like "Match" by Duarte Neves, currently in finalization; "A Memória do Cheiro das Coisas" by António Ferreira, featuring José Martins and Mina Andala; and "Além do Horizonte — A Travessia" by Fernando Vendrell, with Gonçalo Waddington, Miguel Damião, Rafael Gomes, and Júlia Palha.
Commitment to Diversity and Storytelling
These initial confirmations underscore the festival's dedication to cinema, diverse voices, and contemporary storytelling. Fábio Martins, Head of Content and Programming, emphasized, "The first films confirmed for Tribeca Festival Lisboa 2025 show an edition even more open to the industry, prioritizing major Portuguese premieres and exclusive previews, positioning the second edition as a meeting point for the first viewing of films that will mark the cultural media agenda in the country and worldwide."
Cara Cusumano, Festival Director and Senior Vice President of Programming at the Tribeca Festival, added, "This second edition of Tribeca Festival Lisboa celebrates everything we value most in the art of global storytelling, combining highlights from Tribeca 2025 with bold autumn premieres."
Star-Studded Attendance and Strategic Support
With international names like Kim Cattrall, Meg Ryan, and Giancarlo Esposito already confirmed, and strategic support from partners including Betclic, Lisbon City Council, MEO, Toyota, Turismo de Portugal, and Vilamoura, the festival promises to be a memorable event.
Ticket Sales and Special Offers
Following the film announcements, ticket sales have opened for Cinema Pack I and II, offering access to 6 and 3 cinema sessions respectively, with an early bird discount of 20%. Special offers and news for students from national film schools are also in preparation and will be announced throughout September.
