The European Literature Night is back in Lisbon for its 13th edition, promising an evening filled with the magic of words on June 28. This unique event transforms the Avenidas Novas into a literary hub, offering staged readings of 15 contemporary European works across various genres including prose, poetry, theater, and non-fiction.
Highlights of the event include:
- Diverse venues such as the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Nouvelle Librairie Française, and Livraria Tantos Livros, among others.
- Portuguese representation by David Machado, presenting his new book Os dias do ruído, read by actress Sónia Balacó at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation's Modern Art Centre.
- International authors like Emmanuelle Pirotte (Belgium), Yannis Mavritsakis (Greece), Carla Lucarelli (Luxembourg), and Sorina Rîndașu (Romania) will also be featured.
Accessibility is a priority, with some sessions offering Portuguese Sign Language interpretation for the second consecutive year. The event is free, inviting everyone to immerse in the rich tapestry of European literature from 19:00 to 23:00.
