The announcement was made during an event at the UACS - UniĂŁo de AssociaçÔes do ComĂ©rcio e Serviços in Lisbon.
Sports and Culture Icons Show Support
Among the distinguished names are Toy, the singer previously known for supporting CDU, and AntĂłnio Sala, a renowned radio presenter. The sports world is represented by Tony, a former football player and coach, and Teresa Portela, a celebrated canoist.
Defense and Political Figures Back Mendes
The committee also includes high-profile defense personalities like General José Taveira Martins and General Manuel Rolo, alongside political figures such as Carla Castro, a former member of the IL party, and José Gomes Mendes, ex-Secretary of State under António Costa's socialist government.

With a total of 108 members, the committee spans across academia, business, and the arts, including Raquel Vaz Pinto, a university professor, and Nuno Amado, chairman of BCP. This broad coalition underscores Mendes's wide-ranging appeal as he campaigns for the presidency.
