Fire Erupts in São Gonçalo After Fireworks Display
As is customary after the pyrotechnic show, while some gather their materials and others continue to launch rockets, fires ignite near areas where fireworks were launched.
This is the case of the São Gonçalo hillside, located close to the peak where the year's number is traditionally displayed. Firefighters, including both volunteer and Funchal professional crews, are actively addressing the situation.
Additionally, there are reports of small fire outbreaks in other areas that require attention.
