All districts of mainland Portugal are under a yellow heat warning this Monday, extending at least until Wednesday, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
Due to persistently high maximum temperatures, the warnings in effect will continue until 6 PM on Wednesday.
Similarly, in Madeira, the south coast, and mountainous regions, a yellow warning is also in place for the same reason, until 6 PM on Tuesday.
A yellow warning is issued when there's a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the weather conditions.
For today, IPMA forecasts generally clear skies, stronger winds along the coastal strip and highlands, especially during the afternoon, and a slight drop in maximum temperatures, particularly on the west coast south of Cabo da Roca.
Évora, with 38°C, will be the hottest city today, while Sagres, with 24°C, will be the coolest.
