Seven interior districts of Portugal are under a yellow weather warning issued by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) due to the intense heat expected today and tomorrow. The affected districts include Vila Real, Bragança, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Évora, and Beja.
Today's forecast predicts maximum temperatures of 37°C in Castelo Branco, Évora, and Beja, with Portalegre and Vila Real reaching up to 35°C. Tomorrow, the heat is expected to intensify further, with temperatures potentially hitting 39°C in Castelo Branco and 38°C in Évora and Beja.
In contrast, coastal areas will experience slightly cooler temperatures, with Lisbon expecting 33°C today, Porto 29°C, and Faro 27°C. By tomorrow, temperatures are forecasted to drop to 28°C in Lisbon and 27°C in Porto, while Faro will see a slight increase to 29°C. Moderate north winds are expected along the western coastal strip during the weekend.
