Weather Alert Issued
Heavy rainfall has prompted the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) to issue a yellow warning for multiple districts in mainland Portugal. This alert is in effect due to forecasts predicting periods of intense rain, which could lead to potential disruptions.
Affected Areas and Timings
- The districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Coimbra, and Braga are under a yellow warning from 9:00 PM on Saturday until 6:00 AM on Sunday, September 7th.
- Additionally, the districts of Viseu, Santarém, and Leiria will be under warning from 12:00 AM to 9:00 AM on Sunday.
- The north coast of Madeira Island and mountainous regions are also included, with the warning active from noon on Sunday until 12:00 AM on Monday.

The yellow warning, which is the second level on a four-color scale (green, yellow, orange, red), indicates a moderate risk. According to IPMA, there is an expectation of precipitation that is sometimes heavy and persistent, urging residents and travelers to stay informed and take necessary precautions.
