Record-Breaking Attendance in Women's Football
A women's football match in Portugal achieved a record-breaking attendance during the Euro 2025 play-off final between Portugal and Czechia, drawing 40,189 spectators. This remarkable turnout surpasses the previous record by 9,000, which was set last summer during FC Porto's women's team presentation match against União de Leiria, where 31,093 fans attended.
The previous highest attendance for a women's national team match was 20,123, recorded during a game against Ukraine at the Estádio do Bessa in 2023. The momentous occasion was marked by Fernando Gomes and André Villas-Boas, who celebrated the achievement by displaying shirts that highlighted the number of attendees.
