Algarve Diocese Hosts Liturgical Pastoral Journey on Prayer and Hope

Faro, January 7, 2025 (Ecclesia) – The Diocese of Algarve is set to host the Liturgical Pastoral Journey themed ‘Prayer, Food for Hope’ on Saturday, January 11, from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the Pastoral Center of Pêra.

This journey is aimed particularly at catechists, families, and youth, but is open to anyone involved in liturgical ministry, including readers, acolytes, extraordinary ministers of communion, welcoming teams, singers, musicians, and psalmists, as reported by the newspaper ‘Folha do Domingo’.

Organized by the Diocesan Department of Liturgical Pastoral, the central theme will be presented by Father Pedro Manuel at the Pastoral Center of Pêra in the Silves Municipality.

According to the program, participants will divide into groups for sectoral training sessions in the afternoon:

  • Prayer in Catechesis led by Father Flávio Martins
  • Prayer in the Family presented by Teams of Our Lady
  • Prayer with Youth by Father Samuel Camacho.

The event will conclude with a reflection titled ‘Attitudes, Gestures, and Movements: The Symbolic Aptitude’ by the invited speaker Canon Carlos de Aquino.
