A TVDE driver's attempt to flee after hurling insults at PSP officers was thwarted by heavy traffic near Lisbon Airport. The incident unfolded on Monday, following a bus fire that caused significant disruptions in the area. The 40-year-old driver, who had stopped his car, severely obstructing traffic, reacted angrily when instructed to move. After refusing and being threatened with arrest, he sped off, only to be stopped by the congested traffic a few meters away. From his car window, he continued to shout threats and insults at the officers, leading to his interception and arrest.
The PSP reported that even after being handcuffed in public, the detained individual maintained a provocative and threatening stance, uttering further threats. This incident highlights the challenges law enforcement faces in managing public order and traffic during emergencies.
