Lisbon's Avenida da Índia and Avenida Brasília will undergo significant traffic changes due to pavement repair works. The city has announced a phased approach to minimize disruption, with specific dates and locations outlined for the repairs.
Phase 1: July 21-23
- Location: Avenida da Índia, near the western side of the Centro Cultural de Belém (both directions).
- Work: Repairing pavement cracks.
- Restrictions:
- No complete road closure.
- Two right lanes closed in both directions.
- Emergency vehicles and public transport allowed.
- Access to the western side of Praça do Império maintained.
Phase 2: July 24-26
- Location: Avenida da Índia, near Praça do Império (both directions).
- Work: Repairing pavement cracks.
- Restrictions:
- No complete road closure.
- Two left lanes closed in both directions.
- Emergency vehicles and public transport allowed.
- Access to the western side of Praça do Império maintained.
Phase 3: July 21 - August 2
- Location: Avenida Brasília, near the Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Algés to Alcântara direction).
- Work: Repaving.
- Restrictions:
- No complete road closure.
- Two lanes closed, traffic diverted to the opposite direction.
- Emergency vehicles and public transport allowed.
- General access maintained.
Phase 4: August 4-15
- Location: Avenida Brasília, near the Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Alcântara to Algés direction).
- Work: Repaving.
- Restrictions:
- No complete road closure.
- Two lanes closed, traffic diverted to the opposite direction.
- Emergency vehicles and public transport allowed.
Normal traffic flow will resume outside of the work periods.
