De 8 a 11 outubro em Lisboa, Beato
The MIL Convention is set to return to Lisbon from October 8 to 11, 2025, marking its 9th edition. This year, the event promises to place music and culture at the forefront of public debate, fostering a broad space for critical thinking and sharing practices within the cultural sector and the music industry.
Keynotes That Challenge the Status Quo
The convention will feature a lineup of national and international voices aimed at stimulating public discourse and challenging the current paradigms of culture and the music industry. Among the confirmed speakers:
- McKenzie Wark: An Australian writer and Professor of Culture and Media at The New School in New York, Wark is known for her seminal work A Hacker Manifesto (2004). Her keynote will revisit the manifesto's core ideas, linking them to today's challenges in digital culture, AI, and sharing economies.
- Justin O’Connor: A Professor of Cultural Economy at Adelaide University, O’Connor will critique the notion that culture is an industry, advocating for cultural policies that emphasize social and collective value over market logic.
- Lovers & Lollypops: This Portuguese independent label and promoter will share insights from their 20-year journey in supporting emerging artists and organizing festivals like Milhões de Festa and Tremor.
