A neo-Nazi group in Portugal, known as the Movimento Armilar Lusitano (MAL), discussed invading the Parliament through closed Telegram channels, according to sources familiar with the case. However, these discussions never materialized into a concrete action plan. The Judicial Police (PJ) were reportedly surprised by the diversity, quality, and quantity of weapons in possession of the group members.
Despite the alarming nature of these conversations, the idea of storming the Parliament remained just that—an idea. The group's activities and their arsenal have raised significant concerns among law enforcement agencies about the potential threats posed by such extremist groups.
The case highlights the challenges authorities face in monitoring and combating extremist ideologies and the sophisticated means these groups use to communicate and arm themselves.
