According to an official source from the Civil Protection, the accident took place shortly before 8:10 PM on Wednesday, on the municipal road connecting Boavista dos Pinheiros to Saboia, in the Odemira municipality, Beja district.
Among the injured, the ages range from 37 to 43 years, with four suffering serious injuries and one sustaining minor injuries. Two of the severely injured were transported by land to Portimão Hospital, accompanied by Emergency Medical Vehicle (VMER). The other two were airlifted to Lisbon, with one heading to Santa Maria Hospital and the other to São José Hospital. The individual with minor injuries was taken to Beja Hospital.

The firefighters were dispatched to respond to a fire incident, which turned out to be due to a "controlled burn". They faced the accident while returning to their station.
Emergency Response
A total of 39 operational personnel supported by 16 vehicles and an aerial unit were present at the scene, including teams from Odemira, Ourique, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Cercal do Alentejo, Alvalade, and the sub-regional command structure of ANEPC from Alentejo Litoral.
