The secretary-general of the Socialist Party (PS) has issued a stark warning to the Prime Minister, emphasizing that people are not red lines. This comes as the PS opposes the government's proposed changes to labor laws, which they argue could harm young people, women, and vulnerable workers.

In a statement made today, José Luís Carneiro insisted that the PS's opposition is about defending the lives and rights of citizens, not merely setting political boundaries. He was speaking in Ribeira de Pena during the presentation of the re-candidacy of the local mayor, João Noronha.

Key Arguments Against the Labor Law Reforms

Carneiro highlighted that the proposed labor law changes have dimensions that seriously offend the youngest workers, working women, families, and the most vulnerable employees.
