Rui Veloso, a cornerstone of Portuguese culture, is celebrating 45 years of his illustrious career with two unforgettable concerts in Lisbon and Porto. These special events will feature performances alongside the GNR Symphonic Band and the renowned American jazz musician and composer John Beasley, director of the Monterey Jazz Festival.
Starting his journey in the Portuguese music scene in 1980 at the age of 23 with the album "Ar de Rock", which includes timeless hits like "Chico Fininho", Veloso has since become a legendary figure. His work spans across rock, blues, and popular music, contributing significantly to the national music heritage.
Highlighting his prolific career, Veloso has released 18 original albums, with "Mingos & Os Samurais" standing out as one of Portugal's best-selling albums of all time.
The celebratory concerts are scheduled for:
- November 28 at Campo Pequeno, Lisbon
- December 19 at Super Bock Arena, Porto Both shows start at 9 PM, promising to take the audience on a nostalgic journey through Veloso's most beloved songs.
