Ussumani Djumo Claims Victory in Lisbon
The Luso-Guinean athlete Ussumani Djumo made headlines once again by winning the 110 meters hurdles (1.06) in 14.62 seconds during the Worker's Meeting held on May 1st at the Estádio 1º de Maio – INATEL in Lisbon.
After finishing in second place last Sunday in Albufeira in the same event, Djumo ascended to the top of the podium this holiday, thanks to the organization by the Lisbon Athletics Association.
Performance Highlights
Djumo also participated in the 200 meters race, clocking in at 22.59 seconds, coming very close to his personal best of 22.51 seconds, achieved at the AP VICTORIA Meeting on April 27 in the Algarve.
“Excellent week to kick off the season,” said Ussumani Djumo. “This outdoor athletics season is off to a fantastic start, as I’ve achieved new personal records in the 100 meters (11.06 seconds), 200 meters (22.51 seconds), and marked 33.51 seconds in my first 300 meters race. Bringing home three medals this week – one gold, one silver, and one bronze – to the Olímpico Vianense is part of my progress and goals. I’m very happy, thanks to my coach José Barros.”
