Photography Awards Ceremony for "Ria mais que Formosa" Contest
André Gomes, President of Turismo do Algarve, will preside over the awards ceremony for the photography contest "Ria mais que Formosa", taking place on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 2:30 PM in the auditorium of the Região de Turismo do Algarve on Avenida 5 de Outubro in Faro.
Promoted by Turismo do Algarve, this initiative aims to raise public awareness about the importance of preserving the natural and cultural values of the Ria Formosa Natural Park through photographic art. The contest is part of the Ria Formosa Natural Park Co-management Plan (2024–2027) under the "Promotion, capacity building, and dissemination" application and is supported by the Environmental Fund.
The contest attracted approximately 50 participants and over 200 photographs evaluated by the jury to select the best entries in three categories: Man and the Ria, Biodiversity, and Cultural Heritage.
After the ceremony, the winning and selected photographs will be available for viewing at www.turismodoalgarve.pt.
