The village of Alte, in the municipality of Loulé, hosted the event “Há Festa na Aldeia” from April 25 to May 1, as part of the XXIX Week of Arts and Cultures.
For seven days, the village welcomed thousands of visitors, offering a blend of tradition, youth, creativity, and local dynamism.
Over 100 artists performed across various stages set up in the village, with standout concerts by Aurea, Edmundo Inácio, Karetus, César Matoso, Omiri, and Monda. All performances were free of charge, making culture accessible to everyone and fostering a family-friendly and inclusive atmosphere, as highlighted by the In Loco association in a statement.
The program also featured hiking and BTT tours, sports tournaments, exhibitions, creative workshops for children, workshops, markets with local crafts and flavors, and even a free tourist train ensuring mobility between event spaces.
One of the highlights was the BTT Alte, organized by the Cândido Guerreiro Professional School, which engaged the school community and strengthened the bond between youth, territory, and sports.
This event serves as a significant boost to Alte's tourism and cultural promotion, increasingly recognized as one of the most visited villages in rural Algarve. Through its integration into the Aldeias de Portugal network, Alte embodies a national strategy for valuing local communities, sustainability, and community-based tourism.
