An easyJet flight from Lisbon, which was diverted to Gran Canaria yesterday due to strong winds at Madeira International Airport, faced the same fate today. The aircraft took off from Gran Canaria Airport at 11:30 AM but was unable to land in Madeira because of the wind, which reached speeds of 73 km/h this Sunday.
Currently, two more planes are circling, waiting for a chance to land. These include an easyJet flight from Porto and a Ryanair flight from London.
According to Aeroportos da Madeira, adverse weather conditions may continue to affect Cristiano Ronaldo Madeira International Airport until tomorrow, July 7th.
