Involving various groups from Faro's associations, schools, senior homes, and public institutions, "Alameda Viva" aims to create a healthy and fun dynamic among people of different backgrounds and ages, promoting educational and recreational activities that allow for quality family time in contact with nature. This iconic city space will thus gain new life and can be known and appreciated by many. This initiative is also a privileged moment for seniors from various local homes and day centers to go outdoors, enjoying intergenerational socializing moments.
The 2024 edition was a success, involving 20 associations (cultural and sports), eight entertainment companies, 17 artists from various fields, and six senior homes and day centers. An average of 400 people participated in each thematic day, bringing together several generations: children, teenagers, parents, and grandparents. Regarding actions for seniors, the average was 30 participants in each date. Over the five months of the project, about 5,000 participants were involved, who considered it "important to have this type of dynamics, which revitalize these spaces and create moments of true family conviviality."
The program will be available on the municipality's website (https://www.cm-faro.pt/pt/destaques/80572/alameda-viva.aspx) and will be updated regularly with the participating groups in each session.
