Fire Breaks Out Near Assembly of the Republic
A fire erupted in a building on Rua dos Prazeres, in the Mercês parish of Lisbon, on Tuesday evening. The location is notably close to the Assembly of the Republic, Portugal's parliament building.
Evacuation and Response
The building was evacuated as a precaution. Authorities have not yet determined the exact number of residents affected by the evacuation.
Origin and Control of the Fire
According to the Lisbon Sapadores Firefighters, the flames started on the roof of the building. Firefighters responded promptly and have successfully controlled the fire, which is now contained.
No Injuries Reported
Fortunately, there are no reports of any injuries resulting from the incident.

The alert was raised at 8:37 PM. On site, there are 28 personnel from the Lisbon Sapadores supported by eight vehicles, along with four members of the Lisbon Volunteer Firefighters.
