Lisbon Fashion Week Returns: 65th Edition Kicks Off with Runways, Talks and Pop-Ups Across the City
The 65th edition of ModaLisboa is underway, running from Wednesday to Sunday across multiple central Lisbon locations. This year's event expands to five days instead of the usual four, featuring more public-facing activities and introducing a new initiative: Fashion House.
Opening at MUDE and New Initiatives
Kicking off at MUDE – Museu do Design, the event includes Fast Talks—public debates requiring prior registration—and the launch of the sustainability project 'beat by be@t'. This exhibition showcases collaborations between fashion designers (Adriana Oliveira, Francisca Santos, Nicole Feliciano, and Luís Carvalho) and small-to-medium textile enterprises.
A highlight is the debut of Fashion House at Palacete Gomes Freire (Rua Gomes Freire, 98), open from Thursday to Sunday. Entry is free, except during specific presentations for crowd control, as noted by ModaLisboa director Eduarda Abbondanza. The space will host a pop-up store, presentations, exhibitions, performances, happenings, and talks.
Runways and Designer Showcases
Most runway shows are scheduled from Friday to Sunday, primarily at Pátio da Galé. Friday features the Sangue Novo competition for fashion design graduates and emerging designers, plus collections from Francisca Nabinho, Bárbara Anastácio, Alves/Gonçalves, and 2B—a new brand by singer Bárbara Bandeira.
Saturday unveils creations by Gabriel Silva Barros, Mestre Studio, Luís Onofre, Gonçalo Peixoto, Kolovrat, Carlos Gil, Behén, and Olga Noronha (the latter two at MUDE). Sunday's finale includes presentations by Constança Entrudo in Alfama, Nuno Baltazar at MUDE, and designers like Çal Pfungst, ARNDES, DuarteHajime, Valentim Quaresma, Dino Alves, and Luís Carvalho.
Public Engagement and Partnerships
Another new feature, ModaLisboa na Avenida, in partnership with the Associação da Avenida da Liberdade, offers free entry and spans various shops and spaces along Avenida da Liberdade from Thursday to Sunday.
ModaLisboa is co-organized by Associação ModaLisboa and Câmara Municipal de Lisboa.
