Poll Shows Tie in Lisbon Mayoral Race
With just over a week to go until the municipal elections, the race for mayor of Lisbon is wide open, but the news is not the same for Carlos Moedas and Alexandra Leitão. The incumbent, Moedas, not only fails to pull ahead in the polls but has actually dropped in the latest ICS/ISCTE survey for Expresso/SIC.
Key Contenders and Their Positions
Moedas, a social-democrat, and Leitão, a socialist, are the only candidates with a realistic chance of being elected mayor of Lisbon. Other parties, such as Chega and the CDU, trail significantly, with gaps of 15 and 23 points respectively.
This survey highlights the intense competition and shifting dynamics in the capital's political landscape as election day approaches.
