The Judicial Police (PJ) arrested four individuals on Tuesday in the regions of Lagoa (Algarve) and Grândola (Baixo Alentejo) on suspicion of illicit drug trafficking, as announced by the security force this Wednesday.
Among the seized items were 20 kilograms of hashish, MDMA crystals (methylenedioxymethamphetamine), over €20,000 in cash, along with various equipment for pressing hashish, vacuum packaging, dosing, and labeling, according to a PJ statement.
The four detainees, foreign nationals comprising three men and one woman aged between 25 and 45, were caught during a police operation executing home search warrants.
The suspects are set to appear before the Judicial Court in Faro for the application of coercive measures.
The investigation, under the responsibility of the Faro Department of Investigation and Penal Action (DIAP), will continue, the statement added.
