Record Heat in November
According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), November 2024 was the hottest month in Portugal in the past 94 years. The average air temperature reached 15.4 °C, marking an anomaly of + 2.69 °C compared to the normal values from 1981-2010.

Globally, November's average temperature was 14.10 °C, which is 0.70 °C higher than the average between 1991 and 2020. This month was approximately 1.62 °C warmer than the pre-industrial average of 1850-1900.
In Europe, the average temperature stood at 5.14 °C, an increase of 0.78 °C from the 1991-2020 average, with record temperatures noted in northern regions.
