Weather Alert for Portugal
The Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued a yellow warning for all districts of continental Portugal due to forecasts of heavy showers, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms and hail.
As of April 12, 2025, starting from 00:36 until 18:00, all 18 Portuguese districts are under this warning.
The yellow warning, the least severe on a scale of three, is activated when there is a risk to activities dependent on weather conditions.
For today, the IPMA predicts very cloudy skies with periods of heavy rain, occasionally featuring hail and thunderstorms, which are expected to gradually decrease in intensity and frequency from the coast to the interior starting in the afternoon.
Additionally, the forecast indicates generally weak to moderate winds.
