Four young individuals, three of whom were minors, tragically lost their lives following a car accident that plunged into the River Séqua in Tavira. The incident occurred on Saturday night, with the vehicle being driven by an 18-year-old German national, who was the only adult among the passengers. The other victims included another German teenager aged 16 and two Portuguese youths, aged 16 and 17.
The accident was reported to authorities at 10:20 PM, prompting a large-scale response from emergency services. A total of 21 operatives and 11 vehicles from the Tavira Fire Department, INEM, GNR, and Civil Protection were mobilized to the scene.

The exact causes of the accident remain under investigation, but preliminary reports suggest the car overturned before entering the river. The GNR is diligently working to uncover the circumstances that led to this heartbreaking event.
