First Council Meeting Focuses on Infrastructure
The municipal executive of Braga will review the awarding of the repaving project for Requeixo Avenue in Sobreposta during the first meeting of the new term, scheduled for Monday.
In a statement, the municipality stated that this intervention, valued at approximately €600,000, represents one of the first clear signs of the new executive's determination to accelerate investment in public spaces, promoting a more qualified, safe, and future-ready road network for mobility in the municipality.
At a time when improving public spaces, road infrastructure, and mobility conditions is a primary focus of the current Municipal Executive, this project provides an immediate response to the defined priorities, ensuring better conditions for automotive and pedestrian traffic and enhancing comfort and safety for residents and users.
The new Mayor, João Rodrigues, emphasized that this investment is a clear example of our determination to start improving what is essential in people's daily lives.
"Safe, comfortable, and well-maintained streets are the foundation of a functional city that respects those who live, work, and visit here. Therefore, we are accelerating the road requalification plan to meet the needs of Braga residents with rigor, proximity, and efficiency," the mayor highlighted.
The project includes the complete renewal of the pavement and the application of high-durability technical solutions, ensuring more efficient and safe infrastructure performance. The work will be carried out by the company BETUFAM, Lda., the winner of the public tender launched by the Municipality, with an execution period of 120 days after consignment.
Following approval, the contract signing and consignment of the work will proceed.
