André Ventura, leader of Chega, has announced plans to form a "shadow government", drawing inspiration from British political traditions. This move aims to position Chega as a viable alternative to the current PS and PSD parties, ready to step in should the government fall. Ventura emphasizes the importance of including independent individuals and civil society members with expertise in key areas such as health, housing, and economy.
Ventura also touched on the Spinumviva case, suggesting that electoral outcomes do not absolve individuals of unresolved legal issues. He hinted at the possibility of launching a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) into the matter, depending on further clarifications from the Prime Minister.
Regarding allegations of incitement to hatred against him, Ventura defended his stance, criticizing associations for not addressing threats against him while pursuing complaints against his statements. He remains focused on his political ambitions, albeit less inclined towards a presidential bid, following the public's vote of confidence in his potential as Prime Minister.
