4th Meeting of Partners of the Portuguese Industrial Tourism Network
The 4th Meeting of Partners of the Portuguese Industrial Tourism Network (RPTI) is set to take place on May 13 and 14 in Portimão and São Brás de Alportel. This significant event will bring together representatives from national and regional entities involved in industrial tourism, aiming to promote the exchange of best practices, foster collaboration, and enhance the industrial heritage as a touristic, cultural, and educational asset.
Day One: Engaging Discussions and Presentations
On May 13, activities will commence at the Museum of Portimão, featuring thematic sessions, presentations of notable projects from across the country, and a roundtable discussion addressing the challenges facing the sector. Notably, Alexandra Alves, the Portuguese representative at ERIH – European Route of Industrial Heritage, will be speaking, along with guided visits to the Centro Interpretativo do Salva-Vidas and the historic Lota de Alvor.
Day Two: Technical Visits to Industrial Tourism Sites
The following day, May 14, will focus on technical visits in São Brás de Alportel, showcasing three local industrial tourism resources: the Eco-Fábrica da Cortiça, the Museum of Costume, and the Casa Memória da EN2.
This initiative is organized by the Dynamizing Group of the RPTI, in collaboration with the Algarve Tourism Region, and is supported by the host municipalities.
Currently, the Algarve boasts 22 partners within the national network, which encompasses over 200 resources throughout the country.
