The 9th edition of the "Tonight We Shout" program will feature interpreted readings of five theatrical plays, kicking off on October 17 in Lisbon, with additional stops in Faro and Lagos, as announced by the organizers.
Five plays will have interpreted readings from October 17 through the end of November:
- "The Firebugs" (1958) by Max Frisch
- "The Cap and Bells" (1916) by Luigi Pirandello
- "Meet Me at Dawn" (2017) by Zinnie Harris
- "One Day I Dreamed of a Snake" (2003) by Mariana Antão
Readings will take place in eight venues across Lisbon, at the Municipal Library of Faro, and at the Cultural Center of Lagos.
Lisbon venues include:
- Alcântara Library
- Coruchéus Library
- Marvila Library
- Palácio Galveias Library
- Bota Space in Anjos
- Casa do Comum
- Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation
- Fábrica Braço de Prata
The "Tonight We Shout" cycle also includes the premiere reading of the finalist text from the 5th edition of the New Dramaturgy Prize for Female Authorship 2025. The winner will be announced on Wednesday and presented for the first time on December 6 at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, with a repeat on the following day.
Three texts are finalists for this prize, which includes publication of the winning work in book form:
- "Immigrants" by Ema Fonseca
- "On Board" by Marta Prieto
- "Stone" by Sabrina Marthendal
The 9th edition also features reading workshops on November 1 and 2 at the Alcântara Library. Tickets for the sessions cost five euros.
Promoted by the Cepa Torta company, "Tonight We Shout" has artistic direction by the company, Filipe Abreu, and Miguel Maia, with production by Lara Santos.
