Liverpool players and staff have arrived in Portugal to pay their respects at the funeral of Diogo Jota, who tragically died in a car crash in Spain. The accident also claimed the life of his brother, Andre Silva, when their Lamborghini caught fire after a suspected tyre blowout.
A Community in Mourning
The football community is in shock as Liverpool manager Arne Slot, captain Virgil van Dijk, and several teammates were seen arriving in Portugal. Former players Jordan Henderson and James Milner also joined to honor Jota, a father-of-three who had recently married.

Funeral Details
The funeral is scheduled to begin at 10am on Saturday at the Igreja Matriz de Gondomar in Sao Cosme. The wake saw a massive turnout, with queues forming outside the chapel. Attendees included Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Prime Minister Luis Montenegro, and Jota’s agent.
