Festas na Rua in Lisbon: A Month of Free Cultural Delights
Jardins, praças e museus de Lisboa transform into vibrant stages for the return of Festas na Rua, kicking off on September 6th. This annual event brings the city to life with a plethora of free concerts, open-air cinema, unexpected performances, and nights illuminated by music and art in some of Lisbon's most iconic locations, running until September 21st.

Opening at Vale do Silêncio: Classical Music and a Lunar Spectacle
The 2025 Festas na Rua begin at Vale do Silêncio in Chelas, which transforms into a natural amphitheater to host the Coro e Orquestra Gulbenkian, conducted by Maestro Pedro Neves, on September 6th (Saturday at 9:30 PM). They will perform pieces by Verdi, Wagner, Strauss II, Ennio Morricone, and John Williams.

On September 7th (Sunday at 7:00 PM), Fernando Pereira & The New Age Band present "MOMENTUM – from the Valley to the Moon," a show inspired by the total lunar eclipse expected that night.

Jazz at Dusk: Palácio da Alfarrobeira and Palácio Pimenta
The Festas na Rua also feature intimate jazz concerts in the late afternoon.
The first takes place on September 11th at Palácio da Alfarrobeira in São Domingos de Benfica, with the Orquestra de Jazz do Funchal, directed by Francisco and Alexandre Andrade. The highlight will be the Madeiran guitarists Mano a Mano (Bruno and André Santos), celebrating a decade of career and five released albums.
On September 13th, at Palácio Pimenta, the acclaimed Orquestra do Hot Clube de Portugal invites American saxophonist John O’Gallagher to the stage, strengthening the link between national and international jazz scenes.

Cinema no Estendal: Award-Winning Short Films Outdoors
The neighborhood spirit gets a new stage in Arroios with the return of Cinema no Estendal at the Escadinhas do Mercado do Forno do Tijolo:
- September 12th: Screening of four award-winning short films from the latest Queer Lisboa edition.
- September 13th: Special session prepared by the collective O Pátio, with a surprise selection of short films.

Lisbon Connects with Macau at Terreiro do Paço
From September 17th to 21st, Terreiro do Paço hosts the initiative "Vamos a Macau!" celebrating the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.
Over five days, the public can enjoy concerts by Macanese and Portuguese artists such as Márcio Furtado, Don Fran, Born to Fail, or Inês Coito, plus the participation of fado singer Cuca Roseta.
The highlight is the official opening, featuring a drone show and fireworks over the Tagus River, promising one of the most striking visual scenes of Lisbon's late summer.
