The expansion project of the Lisbon Metro from São Sebastião to Alcântara, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), is at risk, according to an independent evaluation report presented this Wednesday by the National Monitoring Committee (CNA).
The project has been classified as critical due to the fact that "it has not yet been possible to proceed with the consignment" of the work. This delay raises concerns about the timely utilization of PRR funds and the project's overall feasibility.
Key concerns include:
- The inability to secure necessary consignments for the project.
- Potential delays in the project timeline, affecting Lisbon's public transportation infrastructure development.
- The impact on the allocation and use of PRR funds, which are crucial for Portugal's post-pandemic recovery efforts.
