In a significant move within the Socialist Party (PS), José Luís Carneiro has called upon André Moz Caldas, Jamila Madeira, and Miguel Cabrita to join the national secretariat. Alongside them, Rosa Matos and Pedro Costa will also be part of this key leadership body. This decision comes as the party prepares to elect its national secretariat this Saturday.
The inclusion of these figures is seen as a strategic effort to strengthen the party's direction and unity. Additionally, Carneiro has extended invitations to other prominent members, including Eurodeputies Francisco Assis and Ana Catarina Mendonça Mendes, former MP Sérgio Sousa Pinto, Almada's Mayor Inês de Medeiros, and ex-deputy Maria Antónia de Almeida Santos, further diversifying the secretariat's composition.
This reshuffle highlights Carneiro's commitment to bringing together a mix of experienced and fresh faces to steer the PS forward. The move is anticipated to inject new energy into the party's leadership as it faces upcoming challenges.
