Open War Between Families Puts Lisbon on Edge
An open war between families in Lisbon has put the PSP (Public Security Police) on high alert. After threats were made during a live broadcast on Facebook, two men went to a rival's house in Parque das Nações and fired shots into the air with a shotgun. The attack, which was also streamed online, resulted in no injuries and no arrests.
Dispute Ignited by Visit to Chelas
The conflict began on Wednesday night when a member of one family went to the Chelas area. In a live-streamed video filmed on a mobile phone, several men from the rival family claimed that the individual attempted to buy drugs in the area and insulted others. They promised that the offense would have consequences.
Retaliation Streamed on Social Media
On Thursday morning, two members of the offended family went to Rua Padre Joaquim Alves Correia in the Casal dos Machados social neighborhood and called out their rival. In another social media broadcast, one man was seen firing multiple shotgun shots while shouting for the rival. No one was hurt in the attack, and the two men left the scene by car.
PSP Responds to Reports
The PSP confirmed to CM (Correio da Manhã) that they received multiple reports about the incident. A PSP source stated, "The patrol did not identify anyone nor seize evidence of fired ammunition."
