During a recent broadcast on Russian state television, Vladimir Solovyov, a prominent Kremlin propagandist, posed a provocative question: "How much would Lisbon cost?" This inquiry was made while discussing which Ukrainian territories Russia should retain post-war, including regions like Crimea and Odessa.
In the segment, Solovyov expressed his curiosity about the price of Portugal's capital, prompting a response from former Russian military official Evgeny Buzhinsky, who admitted he was unsure of the value of Lisbon.
Comparisons to Greenland
Solovyov also drew a parallel to former U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal to purchase Greenland, reiterating his question about Lisbon's price, stating, “They are already evaluating the price of Greenland. How much will Lisbon cost?” This remark highlights an ongoing theme in Solovyov's commentary, as he has previously suggested a desire to either “buy” or “liberate” Portugal.
