Shocking Arrest in Lisbon: Man Detained for Brutal Wooden Baton Attack on Family Members

Investigators from the PSP in Lisbon have detained a 36-year-old man suspected of brutally assaulting several family members with a wooden baton.

Details of the Arrest

The arrest occurred at 9:37 AM on Thursday in the Quinta do Cabrinha social neighborhood. Elements of the Lisbon PSP's Criminal Investigation Division executed a home search warrant and subsequent arrest, issued by the judge overseeing this domestic violence case. The PSP seized the baton used in the attacks, and the victims required hospitalization due to their injuries.

Presented in court, the 36-year-old man was placed in preventive detention.

Another Case Emerges

In a separate investigation, the same division detained a 70-year-old woman for the same crime. The suspect was apprehended on General Taborda Street, also in Lisbon.

After appearing in court, the accused was ordered to make periodic presentations to authorities and is prohibited from contacting the victim.
