A man and two women were arrested last Wednesday in Algarve on suspicion of breaking into a home, violently restraining its occupant, and stealing valuables.
According to a statement from the Polícia Judiciária (PJ), a 41-year-old man and two women, aged 36 and 38, are suspected of committing a robbery and kidnapping crime on May 21 in a residence located in the western Algarve.
The suspects, acting on information from one of the perpetrators who knew the house and was aware of money inside, forced their way into the home while the victim was alone. Once inside, they violently restrained the victim.
With the victim immobilized and locked in one of the rooms, the suspects ransacked the house, stealing several hundred euros and some valuable items before fleeing the scene.
The investigation led to the identification and arrest of the presumed perpetrators, with some of the stolen items recovered, except for the money.
The detainees will now face their first judicial interrogation for the application of coercive measures, with the inquiry being conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Portimão.
