A tragic incident occurred in Lisbon when an 80-year-old woman was fatally struck by a cleaning vehicle belonging to the Lumiar Parish Council. The accident took place at the intersection of Alameda das Linhas de Torres and Rua Rainha Dona Amélia around 10:40 AM this Friday.
Despite immediate medical attention, the victim was declared dead at the scene. The PSP is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. Witnesses reported that the driver of the cleaning vehicle did not see the elderly woman, leading to the fatal collision.
The INEM dispatched emergency medical services, including an ambulance and a medical team from Santa Maria Hospital, but their efforts were in vain. The body has since been transported for an autopsy.
The Lumiar Parish Council expressed deep condolences to the family and friends of the victim on their Facebook page, pledging full cooperation with the ongoing investigation.
