Massive Gathering at Fátima Sanctuary
With approximately 180,000 participants, the annual helmet blessing pilgrimage at the Sanctuary of Fátima was a profound event marked by heartfelt pleas for protection from Our Lady and strong calls for safe and responsible driving. This year's turnout matched the numbers from 2024, solidifying it as one of the largest pilgrimages of the year.

Amidst the crowd, prayers were offered not only for personal safety on the roads but also in memory of friends lost in accidents, emphasizing the community's shared grief and hope. The atmosphere was charged with emotion, as attendees united in their faith and commitment to road safety.
Personal Stories of Devotion
Graça Moreira, a regular participant from Castêlo da Maia, shared her experience. This time, she came by car to fulfill her 11-year-old daughter Érica's dream of experiencing the event. "We left the motorcycles at home, but we had to be here. We never miss it," she said, highlighting the family's deep connection to the tradition. She described the moment as "indescribable," driven by faith and the desire for protection for her entire family.
The pilgrimage also served as a reminder of the risks involved, with related news of a motorcyclist who died en route to the blessing, underscoring the importance of the event's safety messages.
