The Algarve Food Bank Against Hunger is calling for unity and volunteer participation in its upcoming food collection campaign, scheduled from May 31 to June 1.
The institution is preparing for another solidarity food collection campaign, aiming to gather essential supplies for those in need. Volunteers can sign up online, with registration being mandatory for each campaign.
Volunteers are crucial across 150 stores spread throughout the region, where they will distribute bags and later collect food donations. In the warehouses of Faro and Portimão, help is needed for unloading and sorting food, as well as folding bags.
Nuno Cabrita Alves, in a statement, urges "the union of everyone in this cause." He highlights that "all support is fundamental, as thousands of families are on the brink of poverty."
The president of the Algarve Food Bank reminds us that "besides volunteers in stores and the warehouse, we need food donations. An hour of your day can make a difference in the lives of thousands of families."
Donations can be made in stores with food or vouchers, or online from May 30 to June 8. Financial support is also welcome here. Additionally, the Algarve Food Bank's MBWay number, +351 913738 587, is available for donations of any amount.
The institution also encourages food industry companies, including producers, manufacturers, and distributors, to donate their surplus. Supporting this cause helps 15,000 people through 130 partner institutions.
