A Night to Honor Sara Tavares
On November 19, a special concert will take place at the Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon to honor the late Sara Tavares. This event, titled “Coisas Bunitas”, will feature 16 renowned singers joining the musicians who once accompanied Tavares, celebrating her impactful music and legacy.
Remembering a Bright Star
Sara Tavares, a prominent Portuguese singer, tragically passed away due to a brain tumor at the age of 45 on November 19 of last year. She gained fame in the 1990s as a teenager through the talent show “Chuva de Estrelas” and later won the Festival RTP da Canção in 1994.
Event Highlights
The tribute concert will include performances from acclaimed artists such as Ana Moura, Capicua, Carlão, and many more. Furthermore, all profits from the concert will support the upcoming project “Casa Saracotiar”, aimed at preserving Tavares' legacy and inspiring new artists in Lisbon.

Tickets for the concert are currently on sale, priced between €10 and €50. This event not only celebrates Tavares' life but also aims to create a lasting impact in the arts community.

Sara Tavares was known for her unique blend of music influenced by her Cape Verdean roots, with notable albums like “Balancê” and “Fitxadu”. Her contributions to music earned her numerous accolades, including a nomination for the Latin Grammy Awards in 2018. The outpouring of grief and admiration following her death is a testament to her status as a beloved artist in Portugal.
