easyJet has officially launched its new route connecting Porto to Split, Croatia, marking a significant addition to its network. The inaugural flight took off this Monday, offering travelers a fresh gateway to explore Croatia's stunning landscapes, pristine beaches, and rich historical tapestry.
A New Connection
With flights scheduled twice a week—on Mondays and Thursdays—this route not only enhances travel options but also celebrates easyJet's 10th anniversary at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto. This milestone underscores the airline's commitment to fostering regional development in the North of Portugal.
easyJet's Portuguese Journey
Since commencing operations in Porto in 2007, easyJet has transported over 23.4 million passengers. Today, it operates 27 routes from Porto Airport, linking the city to 12 countries, including France, Switzerland, Germany, and the UK, among others. Domestic flights to Funchal and Porto Santo further enrich its portfolio.
Summer Expansion
This summer, easyJet is set to operate an average of 56 daily flights to and from Porto, with a capacity exceeding 3 million seats for fiscal year 2025. The new Split route is a testament to easyJet's strategy of offering diverse and appealing travel options for Mediterranean getaways.
Tropical Destinations on the Radar
Responding to growing demand, easyJet introduced flights to Sal, Cape Verde, last October. This strategic connection not only caters to sun-seekers but also strengthens ties with Portuguese-speaking communities, with two weekly flights during July and August.
