A landmark event marked the official inauguration of Ombria Algarve on June 18, 2025, celebrating a Project of National Potential Interest (PIN) that signifies a pivotal moment for sustainable luxury tourism, territorial valorization, and conscious investment in Portugal.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Pedro Machado, Secretary of State for Tourism, Commerce, and Services, who praised Ombria's long-term vision, highlighting it as "an example of how tourism can positively impact local communities, preserve territorial identity, and attract a more conscious and demanding visitor." The event brought together notable figures including Ilpo Kokkila and Timo Kokkila from the Pontos Group, the project's main investors, alongside Patrick Freeman, CEO of Ombria, and other key stakeholders.
Set against the stunning natural backdrop of Loulé's hills, the inauguration showcased the Viceroy at Ombria Algarve, a 5-star hotel featuring 141 rooms, suites, and apartments, five restaurants and bars, a holistic spa, a conference center, and an internationally acclaimed 18-hole golf course certified by the GEO Foundation.
The event was a celebration of nature, wellness, community, innovation, and conscious luxury, featuring immersive experiences such as a local market with regional artisans, live watercolor illustrations, a memorable sunset party, live music performances, and a holistic spa visit with yoga and sound healing sessions.
