The Espaço Saúde 360º Algarve 2.0 project is organizing another "Health in Day" session, this time focusing on "Heart in Good Hands". The session, organized by the Saúde em Diálogo Platform and the Division of Social Intervention and Participatory Policies of the Municipality of Faro, in partnership with the Portuguese Cardiology Foundation, will take place on May 28th at 2:30 PM in the Noble Hall of the Faro City Council, as part of the "May, Heart Month" initiatives.
Dr. Carlos Filipe, a specialist in General and Family Medicine and a member of the Portuguese Cardiology Foundation, will be the speaker. He will raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases, highlighting risk factors and behaviors, and the need to adopt healthy habits.
At the end of the session, attendees can participate in cardiovascular screenings, promoted by the Algarve Biomedical Center.
Ricardo Valente Santos, psychologist and manager of the Espaço Saúde 360º Algarve project, emphasizes that investing in health literacy is crucial for promoting health and preventing disease: "Disseminating credible health information, along with dialogue and sharing personal experiences, enables individuals to make more informed and responsible decisions about their health. Hence the importance of these sessions."
The "Health in Day" sessions aim to sensitize citizens to health promotion and disease prevention topics through informal conversations that encourage the sharing of concerns and doubts by participants. These meetings include the participation of health professionals and patient associations that are part of the Saúde em Diálogo Platform's network.
The initiative is free and open to the general public, with registration required via this form.
The Espaço Saúde 360º Algarve 2.0 project is driven by the Saúde em Diálogo Platform and supported by the Algarve Regional Program, Portugal 2030, and the European Union.
