Lisbon has taken a significant step towards addressing its housing crisis by delivering 50 new affordable rental homes in the Marvila parish. The project, which began construction in 2023, represents a 9.3 million euro investment, fully financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
Key Highlights:
- The handover ceremony was attended by the Minister of Housing, Miguel Pinto Luz, who emphasized that housing is a nationwide issue, not confined to Lisbon or other major cities.
- Lisbon's mayor, Carlos Moedas, highlighted that the city currently has 12% municipal housing and expressed ambitions to increase this figure.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to make housing more accessible in Lisbon, where the demand for affordable living spaces continues to rise.
